Aloe Vera

Known for its healing properties. Aloe vera can be effective in helping various skin disorders. Aloe is well known and is a widely used burn remedy. Research has shown Aloe Vera oil can penetrate the human skin and carry moisture to the deeper layers almost four times faster than water. On the surface, Aloe Vera helps to restore natural pH level to the skin. It is very soothing and relieves itchy, dry scaly skin. Used as an anti-inflammatory pain-reliever.

Glycerin

Glycerin is extracted from vegetable oils in the soapmaking process. It is a humectant and attracts moisture to your skin. It contains no synthetic preservatives and can be added into soaps, lotions, salts, and toothpaste.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is a wonderful nutrient for dry skin and is said to have healing and regenerating qualities. Rich in vitamins, A, B1, B2, D and E. Enriched with proteins to help keep skin and lips soft and healthy.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) oil is used as a germicide in shampoos, lotions, balms and soaps. As an antiseptic it promotes healing in skin and lips. Oil of Tea Tree is useful for minor cuts and abrasions and penetrates the skin to treat complaints such as acne. It was used as a medication by European settlements in Australia more than two centuries ago. The Aborigines used it to treat headaches, pain, colds and as an insect repellent.

Beeswax

Known for its healing and softening benefits. Used to keep lotions and balms solid. We use the highest grade available.

Coconut Oil

Extremely moisturizing without clogging pores. Wonderful for dry itchy skin. Adds natural lather to soaps and is high in vitamin E.

Jojoba Oil

Commonly referred to as an oil but it is a non-staining non-allergenic wax. Jojoba is extremely moisturizing and can be used all over the body and hair. We use jojoba in our lotions and soother sticks. For more information visit the Boston Jojoba website.

Shea Butter

This is the main ingredient in our Lotion Sticks. A great daily moisturizer that is perfect for all skin types but especially useful dry skin. Helps retains the elasticity of the skin and repairs cellular degeneration. Good for aging skin types. Use before going out in the sun as it is effective in protecting against UV rays.

Shea Butter is a natural paste that has been used by African healers for thousands of years. It is extracted from the pit of the fruit of the African Butter Tree which grows wild in Central Africa. The tree produces tiny, almond-like fruit from which Shea Butter is extracted.

Shea Butter has amazing healing properties due to the A and E vitamins that it contains. It increases the healing of wounds, reduces scarring, is used to heal eczema, burns, rashes and severly dry skin. Shea Butter is also an anti-inflammatory and contains a natural UV sun protectant. Shea Butter leaves skin supple and soft.

Ideal to use for dry skin, skin discoloration, scars and wrinkles. It also helps to relax muscles or reduce pain from swelling of artheritis and offers some protection against UV rays. Known for its gentle moisturizing qualities adding shea butter to soaps, lotions and shampoos can be very benefical. Even using shea butter on its own is wonderful and can be scented with your choice of essential oils.

Vitamin E

We use Vitamin E as a preservative in our products. It is the natural way. Vitamin E is known to be an antioxidant; It acts as a free radical scavenger thus preventing cellular damage. As such vitamin E moistens the skin from within and reduces damage from UV exposure. Known to aid in healing the skin and reduce scaring and stretch marks.
